General Election 2026 – Expression of Interest for Justices of the Peace
The Electoral Commission is seeking expressions of interest from Justices of the Peace (JPs) to assist with official election processes during the 2026 General Election.
New Zealand has a robust and trusted electoral system, and JPs play an important role in maintaining its integrity and transparency.
JPs appointed for election duties act as independent observers and may be required to assist with Home and Hospital Visits and the Official Count.
