WHAT MAKES UP ACCREDITATION?
There is still widespread misunderstanding as to what makes up Accreditation and how long it is valid.
There are two parts to Accreditation
Part 1 is the actual Accreditation Test that you complete online when you have logged into the Royal Federation Website justiceofthepeace.org.
Part 2 is the education session/professional development session which can be any of the following:
- Attendance at a HUB meeting
- Attendance at a Support Group Meeting where an AJPA Trainer provides an hour of formal training
- Completion of an Accreditation Study Group (these are scheduled several times a year, but attendance at one meets the criteria)
Accreditation will remain valid for 2 years from the earliest date of either the test (Part 1) or the education session (Part 2)
You must enter the date of your educational session into your ‘profile’ on the Royal Federation website, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save”. AJPA has no visibility of these dates. The only visual representation that accreditation has been achieved is a Green Tick that will appear against your name when BOTH Part 1 and Part 2 dates are current. It is visible when your name is searched using the ‘Find a JP’ application on the Royal Federation website.
It is the individual JP’s responsibility to update the ‘education session date’ in their respective profile on the Royal Federation website after successfully completing any of the criteria in Part 2 above.
