Support Groups


A meeting of Support Group Coordinators and Rosterers was held at Rose Park, Parnell on the 17th April 2021.  A number of Council representatives were also present which provided a great opportunity to network and make new and renew old acquaintances.  The meeting was chaired by Alan Martin who is responsible for the Support Group Committee on Council. 

A ‘zoom around the web’ opened the meeting with the President providing attendees with an in-depth look at the JP Corner section of the new AJPA website.  This was followed by the formation of four breakout groups which looked at:

  • Succession Planning
  • Successful Service Desk Manning
  • Attracting Good Justices of the Peace
  • How can Council Assist Support Groups?

The groups then fed back to all attendees their discussion and findings of which the Council have taken a number of takeaways to explore further.

Discussion ensued around Accreditation with a number of Support Group Coordinators presenting their respective methodology for addressing the issue.

A full and eventful day was had by all and all attendees overwhelmingly agreed that the format should be repeated at future meetings.
