This weekend Support Group Coordinators and Rosterers met in Parnell and discussed key topics with each other, and with Council members. Succession planning, mentoring new Justices, Support Group boundaries, the impact of Covid-19 on our Service Desks, and communications between AJPA and our members were debated.
A panel of speakers shared their ideas about “How we can ensure that the role of Justices of the Peace remains relevant today and best meet the needs of our communities”. A number of innovative ideas were presented with key themes: communication, using technology to work smarter, and localisation of services to meet local community needs. The advantages of electronic rosters and electronic collection of statistics were demonstrated, and Support Group Coordinators shared their positive experiences with this process.
Thank you to all those who attended and contributed to the discussions. There were a large number of action points from the meeting so WATCH THIS SPACE!
