Our History – Recognition
“That the Justices of the Peace of the Dominion have their associations, their federation, and their annual conference is a sign of their interest in their office and its status, and of their zeal to discharge their responsibilities as efficiently as possible. Consultation and discussion should serve in their case a distinctly useful purpose, and such representations bearing on aspects of their service as they may be moved to make must be regarded as those of a body which is entitled to respect” -“Otago Daily Times”, at the time of the National Conference held in Dunedin in 1935.
