At a recent meeting of the Onehunga Support Group, Leo Stafford-Bush was recognised by the presentation of his Ministry of Justice Certificate and his retirement badge. Leo was sworn as a Justice in 1997 and has given outstanding service as a Justice of the Peace to his community and fellow Justices. Leo served on the AJPA Council from 2004 – 2007 and gave sterling service as an educator to many new Justices at both Annual District Seminars and Regional Conferences.
Leo also set up the Mt Roskill Support Group which met 4 – 5 times annually and assisted many young persons when they found themselves on the other side of the law as a Nominated Person. Leo advised the group that he is going to miss his duties as a Justice but looks forward to a quieter life in retirement. A number of Council Members were also present at the meeting – Ginny Radford (Vice President) Sue Furness, Wallis Walker and Roger Brookes.
