Our History – The “Auckland Star” says…

“The women who have been appointed to hold the office of Justice of the Peace have been so successful in the past that this distinction has again been conferred on a larger number. With the addition of the new appointments, there is now a creditable total of women Justices of the Peace in Auckland, among the most recent Mrs Mary Dreaver, Mrs G. McBride, Mrs D. McClean of Devonport and Mrs Campbell, Mayoress of Auckland” – Auckland Star, February 1931.
