OUR HISTORY – LEAST SAID THE BETTER
“And what is your occupation?” the Justice of the Peace asked the defendant in the dock.
“I deal in fats and tallow”, was the answer, “and I’ve been in business a good few years… I bought stuff off you many years ago”.
“Nonsense… you’ve done no such thing” the Justice roared from the Bench. ”I’ve never been a butcher, I’ve never sold fat in my life”.
“You are right. I didn’t buy fat off you. I bought all those empty bottles you had in your shed”.
