OUR HISTORY – AND POST-WAR BENEFITS

In 1945 the same officials began taking declarations from those entitled, and seeking war service gratuities. Payments were offered to all members of Defence Forces who had to complete application forms and to attest their service. Next of kin applied for those who died while in the Forces. This additional duty connected with the gratuities contributed to the work undertaken by Justices of the Peace.
