NOTES FROM OCTOBER 2021 COUNCIL MEETING

The Council of the Auckland Justices of the Peace Association met on October 20th, 2021. The meeting was held by Zoom due to Covid restrictions.

  • The 2021 AGM was held as a virtual meeting, culminating with a Q&A Zoom session On October 10th. 178 members sent in their votes electronically. Thank you to all those who participated.
  • We welcomed three new members to Council following the AGM elections; Peter Johns, Janet Thompson and John Abbott and welcomed back Hazel Bedogni following her re-election.
  • Our thanks to those Justices whose names are listed on the website for Electronic Certification (EC). This group have been very busy.  Many other Justices are also processing remotely when asked to do so.
  • Our thanks to Tony Meredith for developing the very helpful training videos. The EC video on the website has had more than 700 views and we have had positive feedback from both Justices and members of the public.
  • The most recent Accreditation Study Group had 58 participants and was opened to Justices from the Far North, Northland and Franklin Associations. 26 members from those Associations, who attended the course, have now become accredited.
  • AJPA members are asked to complete the short survey about the preferred format for Justices Quarterly (JQ) magazine. Go to LINK
  • All training, professional development, interviews and swearing-in ceremonies remain on hold. We will advise new dates as soon as possible.
  • Invoices for Membership subscriptions have been emailed to members. If you have not received yours, please check your spam/junk file. Prompt payment is appreciated.
