The Council of the Auckland Justices of the Peace Association met on November 10th, 2021. The meeting was held by Zoom due to Covid restrictions.
Another online Accreditation Study Group was conducted this month resulting in a further 36 Justices completing Accreditation. Auckland now has more than 50% of its members accredited.
A day for Support Group Coordinators and Rosterers is planned for March, as usual. Suggestions for the day will be sought soon. The day will also launch AJPA’s Centenary year.
Work is underway to plan for the reopening of Service Desks, whenever that may be. It will be
important to protect both clients and Justices once desks reopen.
Several Support Groups have held Zoom meetings to stay in touch and support those working so
hard on electronic processing during the past three months.
Statistics collected from those Justices conducting Electronic Certifications are listed have been collated. Approximately 4000 clients have had their documents processed by a small team of Justices from 18 August to 31 October 2021. AJPA council has agreed to make a small donation towards the costs incurred by the busiest of these Justices.
The Royal Federation Conference planned to be held in New Plymouth in February 2022 has been
cancelled due to Covid-19.
A survey of members re the preferred format for Justice Quarterly has had a tremendous response
with a large majority of respondents in favour of receiving this publication via email.
