New AJPA Website Pages: Photographic ID and Non-Compliant Statutory Declarations

We’re pleased to announce two new additions to the AJPA website, created to support Justices of the Peace in delivering their services accurately and confidently.

1. Photographic ID – A new page focused on Photographic Identification is now live and can be accessed directly from the Main Menu of the AJPA website.

This page provides clear guidance on how clients can obtain a photographic image on the back of their SuperGold Card, which is particularly helpful for those who may not have a current passport or driver licence. Step-by-step instructions and links to official government resources are included, ensuring JPs are well-equipped to advise clients in need of valid photo ID.

This resource helps eliminate confusion around acceptable identification and supports JPs in fulfilling their duties with confidence and accuracy.

2. Non-Compliant Statutory Declarations – A second page has been added to highlight Statutory Declarations that are not compliant with the Act. You’ll find this important resource behind JP Corner, in the Useful Resources section.
This page lists a number of statutory declarations that are currently non-compliant. In addition, it outlines common mistakes and oversights that render a statutory declaration non-compliant, with helpful tips on how to respond professionally and lawfully. It’s designed to protect both the JP and the client, ensuring all declarations meet the legal standards required under the Oaths and Declarations Act.
If you are presented with a non-compliant Statutory Declaration you can add it to the list by completing & submitting the form in JP Corner and uploading a copy of the form.
