Keeping Client Information Secure
In news reports recently we have seen several instances where “Personal Identifiable Data (PID)” has been stolen from health databases and government agencies.
Justices hold PID in their logbooks. To comply with the Privacy Act 1993 please record only a minimum of information about each interaction with a client (eg Name, phone number, tasks completed), in your paper logbook. Ensure your logbook is kept secure and not left in your car, or on ‘display’ where others can read it. Electronic logbooks may be at greater risk of theft through hacking and are not recommended for use.
