Justice’s statements in the Media
The right to free speech is fundamental to New Zealanders. However please remember that when you identify yourself as a Justice of the Peace in any setting, but especially during a media interview or on social media posts, that you took an oath “to serve Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her heirs and successors according to law in the office of Justice of the Peace …”
If you must express personal views or opinions that are contrary to the law of New Zealand, consider resigning as Justice of the Peace.
