Administering Documents for Adoption of Samoan Child(ren)

In some parts of our city, clients applying to adopt a child or children from Samoa come to our service desks with a request that the JP administer the affidavit that is required for the Family Court in Samoa.

While New Zealand JPs are authorised to complete this task, it should NOT be undertaken at a service desk.

Instead, make an appointment to meet with the client to carefully complete this time-consuming task.

There will be an affidavit to be sworn (never affirmed) together with at least 8 exhibits.

A JP should take care to ensure that all the requirements are completed because errors or omissions will be very costly for the client, both in time and money.
