Well, what can we say? We can only hope that 2022 is a much better year than 2021!
2021 has been a very difficult year for most of us. From a Council perspective, responding to COVID-19 and its different variants has resulted in many hours spent developing plans and processes to ensure that all Justices could still safely carry out their functions for members of the public. The ever-changing targets, dates and levels have meant that Justices have had to manage and change their plans on the ‘fly’ and most have accomplished this without too much difficulty. The introduction of electronic certification and letterbox processes has seen alternative ways of administering documents and a big thank you goes to all Justices who have been involved in these procedures. If nothing else we are all better ‘zoom’ operators thanks to COVID.
The recent movement from the Alert Levels to the Traffic Light Framework has also had its challenges. We have opened some service desks already and we hope that in the new year we can open up more Service Desks and get back to serving the general public in a way that we all volunteered to do.
On behalf of your Council, I would like to wish you and your families all a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2022 and what it may bring.
